Top comms teams up for CIPR PRide Awards 2009

Essex County Council, Mc­Kenna Townsend and Brazen PR are in contention for num­erous gongs at this year's CIPR PRide Awards.

Manchester-based Brazen has been shortlisted for six awards including Outstanding PR Consultancy in the North West. It also includes Best Use of Photography award for the launch of Bio­nsen with Denise Van Outen (pictured).

Other agencies to be shortlisted for multiple awards include McKenna Townsend, which has been selected for seven awards including Outstanding PR Consultancy in Wessex. Its work for fast food chain Subway has been shortlisted for five separate awards including Best Campaign £10k and Under.

Essex County Council has also led the way for in-house teams after being shortlisted for seven awards including Outstanding In-House Public Relations Team in East Anglia.

The 2009 finalists have been whittled down from 1,400 ent­ries to 900. Winners will be ann­ounced at presentation dinners taking place in each of the 12 participating areas from October to December.
