STOCKHOLM: The office of Swedish prime minister Goran Persson has

hired Rikta Kommunication to publicise his forthcoming visit to South

Africa.

The account was won after a three-way pitch.

Two staff members from the agency flew to South Africa this week. They

will stay for seven days and plan other visits, including being on-hand

during Persson’s stay this November.

Persson’s visit is part of a wide-ranging cultural and trade initiative

between the two countries. South African president Nelson Mandela

visited Sweden last month.

The trip coincides with exhibitions on Swedish business and culture

being held in South Africa. Rikta will target consumer and businesses in

both South Africa and Sweden in promoting Persson’s visit, the

exhibitions and other commercial and cultural links between the

countries.
