Seychelles resort the Vista Bay Club is striving to woo younger

holidaymakers and business people with a pounds 120,000-fee public

relations programme.

The resort, located on the main island of Mahe, hired music and youth

events specialist Ricardo-Hall Carnegie PR last week to run the

two-year drive.

The Vista Bay Club is a privately run hotel and leisure complex with its

own private beach and sporting facilities.

London agency Ricardo-Hall Carnegie is aiming to sell the leisure

complex as a ’fun holiday resort’ to young ’backpacker types’.

It has also been briefed to promote the main hotel to the business

community via the targeted business media and travel agents.

The campaign will focus on the UK but board account director Michael

Ricardo-Hall will look for a European affiliate in six months’ time to

expand it overseas.

Another RHC client, the event management company Capital VIP Promotions,

has been enlisted to organise a St Valentine’s party in London to kick

off the campaign.

The first 500 people who arrive at the party wearing a swimming costume

will win a seven-night stay at the Vista Bay Club.

Ricardo-Hall Carnegie was set up a year ago. Its staff of ten also work

for Partridge Films, Transmedia Productions and the boy band Upside

Down.

The number of visitors to the Seychelles has grown steadily since 1982

from 47,280 to 1995’s figure of 120,716.
