DIARY: Bellodi’s passion for pasta is a workshop winner

Perhaps it was the 24 hours of simmering debate on the hot topic of evaluation which prompted Guido Bellodi, president of Italian agency Chiappe Bellodi, to leaven the recent GPRA/ICO Workshop in Frankfurt with his own recipe for successful pasta rather than PR.

Perhaps it was the 24 hours of simmering debate on the hot topic of

evaluation which prompted Guido Bellodi, president of Italian agency

Chiappe Bellodi, to leaven the recent GPRA/ICO Workshop in Frankfurt

with his own recipe for successful pasta rather than PR.

Bellodi’s impromptu presentation of his ‘Ten Golden Rules for Spaghetti

in Tomato Sauce’ called for ‘beautiful red tomatoes kissed by the sun’

rather than measurable objectives. ‘Imagine sun, blue sky, sea side, no

tourists, friends only’ enthused Bellodi. ‘Roll spaghetti on your fork,

close your eyes and enjoy the taste of a real Neapolitan ‘Spaghetto

Scuiliariello.’

Oh that Italian passion. I wonder whether ICO president Peter Hehir,

waxing lyrical on British fare of fish, chips and mushy peas, would have

had the same appeal?
