PARIS: France’s road safety agency, La Securite Routiere, is
reviewing its PR. The account is currently held by DDB & Co Hintzy
Heymann and will be worth over pounds 150,000 in fees.
La Securite Routiere has tendered for PR firms to pitch for the annual
contract, as part of a routine review. The brief is for media relations
and PR. DDB & Co Hintzy Heymann is expected to repitch.
A spokeswoman for La Securite Routiere said: ’We want an agency capable
of creating partnerships with local communities and voluntary
organisations and to launch big road safety campaigns.’
Since winning the account earlier this year, Hintzy Heymann has handled
La Securite Routiere’s PR during Le Mondiale de l’Auto, the
international Paris motor trade fair last month. Last weekend, DDB & Co
Hintzy Heymann helped organise an awareness-building exercise with help
from France’s national association for the disabled. Motorists who were
caught speeding were stopped by policemen accompanied by road accident
victims. The initiative came during one of France’s busiest winter bank
holiday weekends.
La Securite Routiere is part of the French ministry of transport and
equipment. It handles all government policy relating to road safety.
