Adam Roscoe, managing director of Hill and Knowlton in Manchester, has
quit to join regional network Greenwood Tighe PR.
Roscoe, 37, who will report to Greenwood Tighe’s chief executive, Iain
Ferguson, will head up the agency’s three offices, based in Edinburgh,
Leeds and Lymm.
He succeeds Brian Beech, who left Greenwood Tighe in May, after seven
years, to join fellow north west agency Communique PR as joint managing
Roscoe joined Hill and Knowlton’s Manchester office in 1990 as general
manager, becoming managing director four years later. He entered PR in
1986, after eight years in television and newspaper journalism, with
Shandwick’s north west consultancy, then known as Fowlers.
He said he was attracted to Greenwood Tighe by the strength, and
‘critical mass’ of its team. Hill and Knowlton’s Manchester office has
seven staff, while Greenwood Tighe has a total of around 30.
Roscoe, who joins Greenwood Tighe later this month, added that he had no
immediate plans to make changes at his new firm. ‘I think the old adage:
‘If it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ makes a lot of sense. The business has
been run extremely well in Brian’s absence with staff doing a good job
of keeping clients happy.’
Coinciding with Roscoe’s appointment, Greenwood Tighe has promoted board
director Sue Souter, who has been acting managing director since Beech’s
departure, to the role of deputy managing director and Jenny Morgan, who
heads up day to day operations for the agency in the north, to the
position of associate director.
