Incoming Irish president Mary McAleese has appointed Eileen
Gleeson, managing director of Dublin corporate and financial agency FCC,
as her special adviser.
Gleeson’s role will be to advise McAleese on matters ranging from media
relations to diary engagements. She will accompany the president on
foreign trips and work twith her to achieve her presidential
objectives.
’The theme of the presidency is bridge-building - helping people to come
together,’ said Gleeson.
Gleeson will spend around 15 hours a week at Aras an Uachtarain, the
presidential house. She will work alongside the civil service
secretariat headed by Brian McCarthy.
