Antonia Betts has been promoted to take over de Gruchy's role as MD of OgilvyHealthPR, the PR discipline within OHW UK. She was previously director of operations for the company for three years (PRWeek, 6 December 2006).
De Gruchy is to be moved to the newly created role of client service director for the UK group. He has been with Ogilvy for more than ten years. His new role will include advising clients across the entire range of disciplines at OHW, including PR, advertising, medical education and digital.
'The creation of a CSD role in the UK group is an important development,' said de Gruchy. 'It recognises the increasing importance we see in managing the relationship with, and service delivery for, our key client base, while increasing the integration of brand comms strategies through all our disciplines.'
Betts will take on the new role of MD with immediate effect. She was previously MD of Shire Health International before it was merged with sister agency Ogilvy PR Health (PRWeek, 13 December 2007).
The changes follow the double move of current European CEO and UK chair Gloria Gibbons to joint global CEO, and current UK CEO Emma Sergeant into a global client leadership position at OHW.
Sergeant will be replaced by Lois Hall as the new UK CEO. Hall is a long-standing employee of the UK group, having previously held senior positions across all of the key OHW practices, and most recently establishing and leading a new brand consultancy team within the group.
Other new joiners include Liz Gofton, who returns to OgilvyHealthPR as an associate director after time in Australia working in a government health role. Satinder Phull has also returned to the agency as a senior account manager.
Ogilvy Healthworld UK clients include pharma firms GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and Wyeth, and consumer companies Nestle and Unilever.
