Flack: (Saving) on expenses - Le Pont de la Tour, London SE1

Reviewer: Danny Rogers, editor, PRWeek.

What is it good for?

Designed for a business lunch or dinner to impress. This restaurant's location - overlooking Tower Bridge on the South Bank - is difficult to beat, particularly on a warm autumnal day. Close to City Hall and Boris. With a choice of Bar & Grill or A La Carte - as well as regular promotions - there are many price points. However fresh, British seafood is the speciality.

Signature dishes

The oysters - British or French - are sublime.

Who's the boss?

The (genial) general manager is Jean-Francois Delaunay. Head chef is Lee Bennett.

Tips please

Best to sit outside, but one row back from the footpath, for a combination of ambience and privacy.

What's the damage?

Various set menus, right up to the top end of three courses for £39.50. On Friday 4 September it will host the Thames Festival Oyster Run, offering half a dozen British oysters for £8.50, while stocks last.
