Describe the magazine
Spear’s Wealth Management Survey is The New Yorker of finance titles. Our Spear’s Power Indexes profile top individuals every issue in a specific wealth advisory sector, from private client law to art advisory. We are proud of Spear’s Ultra – featuring luxury trends, hotels, travel, collecting and cars. We also cover arts, business, culture and travel.

Who are your readers?
Our readers are high net-worth individuals, mostly from the financial services community, and British Airways first class passengers.

Who are your rivals and what differentiates Spear’s?
FT Wealth and Forbes are our competitors, but our magazine goes directly to the homes of 30,000 of the wealthiest and most influential individuals in the UK. We do not talk down to our readers – they are people who understand the worlds we cover, so we can talk to them like adults, which is rare in the media.

What makes a great Spear’s feature?
We pride ourselves on being ahead of trends in finance and luxury – we called the credit crunch a year before anyone else. We also have access to the world’s great and good, so our pieces have the best sources.

Of which story are you most proud?
Getting Conrad Black – for whom I used to work at The Daily Telegraph – to write our Diary from his jail cell in Florida.

How can PROs get involved?
We are looking for access to interesting and successful entrepreneurs, business leaders and financial service industry leaders – preferably those who aren’t rent-a-quote types.

What are your PR pet peeves?
When PROs pitch luxury property and hotel developments that have yet to be built.

Media must haves
All financial titles, Monocle, The New Yorker, Bloomberg TV, CNBC Europe and Sky’s Jeff Randall Live.
