Having completed its acquisition of Fleishman-Hillard earlier this
week, Omnicom has brought together five of its leading branded
consultancies to create the world’s largest public relations group.
Communications Consulting Worldwide will act as an umbrella organisation
for two of the world’s leading full-service agencies Fleishman-Hillard
and Porter Novelli International. The group has a combined projected
income of dollars 300 million to end 1997.
John Graham, F-H chairman and chief executive, will serve as the new
organisation’s chairman and chief executive, reporting to Omnicom’s
president and CEO John Wren.
Countrywide Porter Novelli CEO Peter Hehir takes over as chairman of
Porter Novelli International and vice chairman of Communications
Consulting Worldwide, while Robert Druckenmiller becomes CEO of Porter
Novelli and president of the new organisation.
The five agencies will retain their brand and any multi-agency activity
is likely to take place in the US initially.
’Each of our agencies has a well-established reputation, a strong
management and distinct service-orientated culture, and each has
demonstrated world class capabilities. We don’t want to interrupt a
successful pattern,’ said Graham.
He confirmed that the new group would look at further acquisitions,
particularly in healthcare, technology and investor relations. F-H UK is
looking at potential acquisitions in the corporate sector.
