Mindscape, the ailing US-based consumer software company, is investing

in a PR drive to help restore UK profitability.

The Californian firm, now owned by British media group Pearson,

recruited Peter Noble PR last week on a pounds 100,000-fee contract to

gain coverage for the company and its titles in the non-specialist

computer press.

Peter Noble was handed the business for Mindscape’s games and lifestyle

consumer software following its project work for the interactive CD-ROM

Dogz: Your Computer Pet in March.

The agency’s first task is to launch another artificial intelligence

game Catz: Your Computer Pet, working with the Cats Protection League

and targeting a range of media including women’s titles.

It will also be called on to promote any of Mindscape’s 25-35 new titles

each year.
