French video games developer Infogrames Entertainment has appointed
Manning Selvage and Lee to handle its UK corporate PR.
The account was won without a competitive pitch two weeks ago. MS&L
replaces incumbent agency Edelman PR Worldwide.
The agency will seek to raise the profile of the games specialist in the
UK business and financial press. Infogrames bought French software
developer Ocean Software in 1996.
MS&L will also work with the company to develop a corporate brand to
encompass its drive into other forms of entertainment like its
partnership in video games TV channel Game One.
MS&L account director Dave Bennett said: ’Infogrames is widely
recognised in Europe as the leader in the interactive entertainment
industry, and we’re going to help raise the awareness of their success
and vision in the UK.’
Talk Loud PR continues to handle PR support for Infogrames’ video game
titles, which include games for the Sony PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and PC
formats.
For 1997-98 Infogrames reported a turnover of pounds 163 million with a
339 per cent year-on increase in profits to pounds 9.3 million. Its
biggest video game titles are Mission: Impossible, Heart of Darkness and
V-Rally.
