The Metropolitan Borough of Sefton has appointed Guisborough-based
agency DTW to carry out a three-month, pounds 30,000 audit of its
communications. DTW, which was hired after a four-way pitch, will
prepare individual PR and marketing plans for each council department,
and advise on whether the council should set up a communications
department. Currently PR is managed by public information officer Peter
Swarbrick, who works in chief executive Graham Haywood’s offices and
reports directly to the chief executive, and a number of full or
part-time marketing staff within each department.
