Travel Trade Gazette Europa, published by Miller Freeman, has launched a
weekly fax and e-mail newsletter, EU Travel Intelligence which will
report on European Union activity as it affects the travel industry. EU
Travel Intelligence will be written by TTG Europa’s Brussells-based
correspondent Peter O’Donnell and edited by TTG Europa editor Jeanette
Hyde.
Esquire expands fashion pages
Esquire is to double its editorial fashion pages in response to reader
research. The December/January issue which hits news stands on 21
November will contain 20 pages of fashion and style reportage.
Eating out goes on-line
Channel 11: The Interactive Network has gone on-line with RNN:
Restaurant News Network - a 24-hour news information service and
database of restaurants and associated products and services. RNN is
edited by former wine PR specialist Victoria Morrall.
The Week hits newsstands
This week sees the appearance on UK new stands of The Week - a magazine
digest of British and foreign press stories. Founded and published by
former Sunday Telegraph deputy editor Jon Connell and edited by Jeremy
O’Grady, it already has a UK subscription-only circulation of 10,000
with news stand circulation anticipated to be in excess of 40,000.
PC Daily News launched
ZDNet UK, the on-line arm of Ziff-Davis UK has launched PC Daily News -
a free daily digest of personal computing news on its worldwide web
service. PC Daily News is edited by Martin Veitch former deputy editor
of PC Direct. (http://zdnet.co.uk).
NatMags develops exhibitions
The National Magazine Company is to expand its exhibitions department in
order to bring production of the 1997 Cosmopolitan Show in-house, and to
develop additional exhibition opportunities for its portfolio of titles.
Recent additions include November’s Country Living Christmas Show at The
Business Design Centre.
