NatWest Bank has suspended its UK head of PR Paul Lockstone after a
member of the bank’s staff lodged a complaint against him. Two female
staff from his division have also been suspended.
NatWest Group’s head of corporate affairs, Edward Townsend, refused to
comment on a Daily Telegraph article which linked the allegation to
sexual harassment
‘Following a complaint, an investigation is being conducted,’ said
Townsend. ‘NatWest needs to ensure the investigation is thorough’.
Lockstone joined NatWest in a banking position then moved into PR and
was made head of UK PR three years ago. He heads a team of 15
communications staff in the subsidiary - NatWest Group’s largest -
covering high street banks and financial services including mortgages
and pensions.
Lockstone’s job is being filled temporarily by deputy head of PR Clare
Brown.
