Grayling executive chairman and PCC board member Vivien Hepworth is welcoming input from the PR community as she heads up the independent review of the PCC’s governance.
The review will examine the operation of the PCC board, sub-committees and secretariat, in particular looking at how transparency in the system can be ‘enhanced’.
Hepworth stressed the role was not linked to her job at Grayling. She added: ‘I don’t think people in PR know that much about the code. But the PCC provides advice to people who are dealing with difficult media situations – that is an unsung part of its services. There is no reason why PROs shouldn’t know about it.’
The consultation period will be open over the next six months, and interested parties will be able to provide their thoughts on the PCC’s website. Hepworth said she would value the input of PROs
