The buy-out sees co-founder Robin Treacher exit, losing his 50 per cent share in the business, while co-founder and MD Pete Whelan remains but has had his 50 per cent stake halved.
The remaining 75 per cent has now been shared equally between company directors Chris Taylor, Lorna McAteer-Bingham and Hayley Stewart.
Taylor said: ‘It was an opportunity that was always open to the right people. It's the next generation of DTW.'
Treacher, a stalwart in public sector PR, remains a shareholder and director of DTW's sister agency Quantum PR (formerly DTW Vavasour). He will continue to be involved in occasional projects for DTW and work full time at Quantum.
