Diarmuid Jeffreys has been appointed editor of the BBC’s Money

Programme. He is a former assistant editor of Channel 4’s Business Daily

and editor of The Business Programme.



Hunt heads Company’s fashion



Shelly Hunt has been appointed fashion editor of Company magazine. She

previously held the same post at You magazine.



Promotion at GH for Gray



Linda Gray has been promoted to deputy editor of Good Housekeeping from

her position as associate editor.



Meridian invades Isle of Wight



Meridian Broadcasting, the ITV broadcaster for south and south east

England, is taking over the newsroom operation of Isle of Wight Radio

and will provide local news on the hour from 7am to 6pm weekdays and

mornings on weekends.



Lake moves up at TPD



Grahame Lake as been promoted to the new position of deputy managing

director of contract publisher TPD.



Cyberia woos mag readers



Cyberia, the global chain of Internet cafes, has launched a monthly

Internet lifestyle title called Cyberia Magazine. It will be free to

customers and will have an initial print run of 20,000.



Rubython denies launch delay



Tom Rubython’s Sunday Business will launch on 21 April. He denied the

launch has been delayed saying that while the target date for getting

all systems up and running was 31 March, ‘no one would launch a quality

newspaper just before Easter with so many potential readers going on

holiday’.



MORI to research ITC impact



The Independent Television Commission has appointed MORI to carry out

research into the perception, understanding and experience of the ITC,

the first since it was established in December 1990.



Warkentin for Marie Claire



The new editor of Marie Claire is Juliet Warkentin not Watkinson, as

printed last week.
