The charity is concerned there has been little change in the treatment and management of Parkinson's disease over the past ten years. It wants to raise the profile of the disease and publicise how the situation can be improved.
Tonic Life will help the umbrella body encourage its member advocacy groups to raise awareness of the problems, such as insufficient access to care. It will also ask the groups to attempt to change perceptions of the disease across European media. It will urge groups to agree goals, and put together comms plans to campaign for these changes at a European level and in their individual countries.
Last month, 13 groups met to discuss ideas about how to improve the situation. Tonic Life will manage a media briefing at the European Federation of Neurological Sciences conference in September.
