SpinVox is accused of posting fake blog comments in response to negative press, after claims that its transcription service is carried out by call centres. This could potentially constitute a breach of privacy.

In response to an article on prweek.com, a commenter pointed out several tech blogs had been sent an identical comment supporting SpinVox - a common astroturfing tactic. SpinVox head of social media James Whatley said: 'I have identified one of the comment's authors as a personal contact acting of their own accord. An email has been sent around SpinVox and I am awaiting a response.'
