Rowland Worldwide president Martin Franken has promoted the
managing director of the agency’s UK office, Beverley Kaye, to chief
executive.
Franken is also planning to alter the structure of the agency in the
light of the demerger of its parent Cordiant, set to be finalised in
December.
He was in London this week as financial details of the demerger deal
were published, and was due to give staff more details of how the agency
will fit into the Saatchi and Saatchi group.
Kaye’s elevation brings to and end a year long search for a
chairman/chief executive as the agency seeks to reposition itself after
a difficult few years.
Kaye’s move, two years after she joined the agency, is being seen as
recognition for the consolidation job she has performed. Rowland UK is
now focused on three areas - marketing communications, corporate
communications and public affairs. Earlier this month Robert Metcalfe
was brought in from Richmond Towers to run the marketing communications
unit.
’Beverley has really been fulfilling the role of chief executive officer
for some time now so this formalises her position,’ explained Franken.
