The European Parkinson's Disease Association has called in Tonic Life Communications to coordinate a major European comms push.

The charity is concerned that there has been little change in the treatment and management of Parkinson's disease over the last ten years. It wants to raise the profile of the disease and publicise how the situation can be improved.
Tonic Life will help the umbrella body encourage its member advocacy groups to be more vocal to raise awareness of the problems, such as insufficient access to care. It will also ask the groups to attempt to change perceptions of the disease across European media. It will urge the groups to agree set goals, and put together comms plans to campaign for these changes at both a European level, and in their individual countries.
Last month, 13 different groups met to brainstorm ideas about how to improve the current situation. Tonic Life will manage a media briefing at the upcoming European Federation of Neurological Sciences conference in September, to disseminate these proposals.
