FD wins Delphi’s consolidated PR

IT services company Delphi Group has consolidated its financial and corporate PR into Financial Dynamics (FD).

IT services company Delphi Group has consolidated its financial and

corporate PR into Financial Dynamics (FD).

Delphi previously used Shandwick for financial PR and EMC Euro PR for

product and corporate PR. Financial Dynamics will now cover both remits

after a competitive pitch against Shandwick and Bell Pottinger.

Delphi is a UK-based company which provides consultancy, training and IT

systems. Delphi and its rival CRT Group are the UK’s two largest IT

recruit ment suppliers. The appointment of FD is an attempt to increase

its focus on internal and external communications.

FD reports to Tony Reeves, chairman and chief executive of Delphi.

Earlier this year Reeves reported problems in the US side of the

company’s operations.

Shares fell after the company failed to meet analysts profit

forecasts.

Delphi now wants to rebuild its strong reputation in the City.

Reeves said: ’Financial Dynamics have a strong team and will be an asset

to our business.’ FD’s team on Delphi will include Tarquin Henderson,

former director of corporate communications at Delphi’s rival Logica,

who joined the agency earlier this month.

Delphi made profits of pounds 12.8 million for 1997 on sales of pounds

277 million.

It employs 5000 staff worldwide with separate individually managed

companies whose services include IT staffing, IT training and IT

solutions. For instance, it provides developers to work on Microsoft

services to help build applications around Windows platforms.

The company is strong in Europe and is continuing its investment

programme in the US. Recruitment accounts for over 80 per cent of

Delphi’s sales, but it expects the balance of this to change over time

following a decision made four years ago to diversify.

Financial Dyamics’ managing director of corporate division David Lloyd

recently announced its intention to service the technology sector on the

corporate as well as the financial side, (PR Week, 12 June). Its IT

clients include ICL and the Sage Group.
