Clydesdale Bank has appointed Donna Reid as media relations manager, Rickman promoted at Google, Religare Enterprises in India hands brief to FD.

Clydesdale Bank has appointed Donna Reid as media relations manager, covering Carol Young's maternity leave. Reid, who is based in Glasgow, will manage media activity for Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank's retail division, reporting to Barry Gardner, head of external affairs. Previously she was communications and public affairs manager at Freescale Semiconductor.

Oliver Rickman has been promoted to head of PR at Google. Rickman was previously communications manager at Google's YouTube and reports to Peter Barron, head of communications and public affairs, UK, Benelux and Ireland.

FD has landed a brief to boost the profile of Indian financial services firm Religare Enterprises in the UK. The agency will initially be responsible for building the Religare brand with the financial media in London, although the mandate could later be extended to other geographies. The agency won a six-way pitch to scoop the business. Andrew Walton, MD and head of FD's financial services practice, will lead the account.

The Thimar Group, which owns a number of companies in Saudi Arabia, has turned to David Gray PR to provide strategic advice during its corporate restructuring. The new management team has asked the Edinburgh-based agency to advise on external and internal communications during the transition. The Thimar Group in Jeddah owns 20 companies in the kingdom, with interests ranging from transportation to manufacturing.

Smithfield Consultants has appointed Stewart Harris as an associate director. Previously Harris was an account director at Weber Shandwick Financial and he has worked as an account manager at MJ2 Business Communications and a consultant at the Walt Disney Company.

Christiana Marran has left Bank of America in London, where she was head of corporate communications, events and foundation for EMEA. She joined BofA three years ago from Deutsche Bank where she was global head of marketing for the investment banking division and head of corporate communications North America.
