Michael Cooling, former group head of investor relations (IR) at

Reuters Holdings, has joined financial and corporate agency Grandfield

as a consultant in its analyst and IR division.

Cooling’s appointment marks Grandfield’s attempt to strengthen the IR

side of its business. Stephen Benzikie, formerly senior City

correspondent on the Daily Mail also recently joined the team.

Cooling, a former chairman of the Investor Relations Society, held the

position at Reuters from 1985 to 1997 until retiring last December. He

will work part-time at Grandfield on specific projects for new and

existing clients.

Grandfield’s IR work has included projects for clients such as London

International, the manufacturer of Durex condoms, and flower delivery

service Flying Flowers.

Charles Cook, chief executive of Grandfield, said: ’We are delighted to

have attracted senior people of such calibre to help develop our analyst

relations activities.’

Other members of Grandfield’s analyst and IR team include founding

director Michael Henman and former Robert Fleming Securities global

equity specialist Ranjana Panikar.
