The charity’s School Guardianship Scheme runs projects with 123 schools across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Groups of schoolchildren can visit different National Trust properties and take part in conservation or environmental educational projects, for example learning how to grow their own food.
Amazon has been asked to highlight the 20th anniversary of the scheme. It plans to gather stories from the different projects that illustrate the scheme’s success. It will use these stories to target education professionals through both specialist press and more mainstream media like the Guardian’s education supplement.
The National Trust wants to encourage more schools to take part in the scheme.
