Two-Ten Communications’ pub quiz reached its grand final stage last

week. After six gruelling heats and one semi-final, London-based fashion

PR specialists Caroline Neville Associates locked horns with hi-tech

agency Brodeur A Plus.

Caroline Neville emerged triumphant after leading the gruelling 10-round

contest throughout. Brodeur came close on a couple of occasions only for

Caroline Neville’s team of Karen Bennett, Alison Spiller, Dominic

McCarthy, Claire Butler and veteran skipper Maurice McCarthy to pull

ahead and win 60 points to 55.

Maurice McCarthy is pictured receiving the coveted tankard, which was

soon to be filled with champagne, from Two-Ten MD Clive Marshall, who

was also celebrating his 40th birthday.

Celebrating victory, team member Bennett tells me: ’We’ll defend our

title next year but our next challenge is the softball competition this

summer. We’re sporty and brainy.’

Doing his best impression of a well paid football manager Brodeur’s

Jonathan Simnett told me after the match: ’The best team won, but we’re

taking it one step at a time. Last year we reached the semi, this year

the final.

Next year we’ll win it.’

Fighting talk indeed.
