British Wind Energy Association woos Tories alongside Portland

The British Wind Energy Association has turned to Portland to improve the renewable energy sector's relations with the Conservative Party.

The trade body for the UK's wind and marine renewable industries has called in Tim Allan's agency on a project basis. Portland won a six-way shoot-out for the business.

BWEA communications director Charles Anglin said: ‘With the general election approaching, BWEA is keen to bring our industry expertise to the Conservatives' internal policy debate.'

Portland recently lost Tory lobbyist Tara Singh to Centrica, but has improved its Conservative links by hiring George Eustice, David Cameron's former press secretary.
