BORDER LINES: BARCELONA - A healthy win for SCR

Spain’s association of health food and medicinal plant manufacturers, Agrupacion Sectorial de Dietica y Plantas Medicinales, has hired SCR to lobby to change laws restricting the labelling of its members’ products.

Spain’s association of health food and medicinal plant

manufacturers, Agrupacion Sectorial de Dietica y Plantas Medicinales,

has hired SCR to lobby to change laws restricting the labelling of its

members’ products.

In Spain, products like vitamins and medicinal plants can only carry

labels describing their properties if they are sold in pharmacies. In

health food stores and supermarkets, labels can only describe the

contents of products, not their uses. ’Only 15 per cent of medicinal

plants are sold through pharmacies,’ said SCR managing director Sheena

Campbell-Royle.
