Foreign and Colonial brief is boost for FD

Financial Dynamics is understood to have won a major financial

account with fund management group Foreign and Colonial.

Polhill Communications has held the account since 1990, however Julian

Polhill claimed the loss would have only a ’small impact’ on his

business.

FD did project work for the company when Germany’s Hypo Bank took a

major shareholding in F&C last year.

Winning the retained business would be a big breakthrough for FD, which

does not have a large fund manager on its client list.

The brief is expected to include corporate and personal finance and

cover F&C’s retail funds and institutional business. F&C Ventures’

relationship with Lansons Communications is not affected.

The review of F&C’s requirements is thought to have been prompted by

several developments. In addition to its closer alliance with Hypo, last

year F&C doubled the size of the funds that it manages. It took pounds

15 billion of pension fund assets through the acquisition of ESN Pension

Management.

It now manages pounds 26 billion of funds.

Neither Financial Dynamics nor F&C would comment on the change of

agency.
