Who would have thought that under the hard-nosed financial PR exterior
that is Brunswick’s David Brewerton, there lurked the sensitive soul of
a Morris dancer, yearning to break free.
Yes, I have it on good authority that the former Times City editor was
once partial to a bit of bell jangling and stick bashing in the vicinity
of a May pole in Essex. Whether he is still involved in such pursuits is
hard to say.
One former colleague said: ‘I worked with David for a good many years. I
know he was a leading light in the Brentwood Labour Party and did a lot
of sailing, but I didn’t ever hear about the Morris dancing. It’s
possible, but he kept very quiet about it.’
Why so coy David?
