Travel and leisure PR specialist Sugden McCluskey Associates has
undergone a name change following a buyout by one of the founding
partners.
Judy McCluskey has bought out her partner Michael Sugden and
rechristened the company McCluskey and Associates.
She said the deal, in which Sugden becomes a part-time consultant, was
‘the result of very amicable discussions.’ Sugden ‘has many other non-PR
business interests which he wanted to pursue and I felt the timing was
right for me to take full control of the agency,’ she said.
All the agency’s clients, including Royal Cruise Line, Lauda-Air
Deutschland, Florida Keys and Cayman Airways, will be staying, added
McCluskey.
Although she refused to give turnover figures, McCluskey says the eight
year-old agency is among the UK’s top three PR firms specialising in
leisure and travel. The agency claims to be the only specialist in this
area offering a pan-European service, with 80 per cent of its work
falling into this category.
Recent wins include London’s Cafe Royal and the Indonesian Tourist
Board.
McCluskey’s 14 staff, which includes three in Mainz, near Frankfurt, and
one in Milan, will not be affected by the company restructuring.
