Some PR jobs really suck. Consider poor old Malcolm McIntyre, founder of
defunct agency McIntyre Hodges and one-time joint managing director of
Kingsway PR, who represented the Champagne industry in the UK for 18
years.
Not only did McIntyre, now an independent consultant, have to endure
endless visits to the Champagne region, immerse himself in the culture
and history of the area and drink loads of bubbly but, now, the French
Government has gone and given him an award.
Not just any old gong, mind, but one of the France’s highest industrial
awards - the Chevalier de l’Ordre du Merite Agricole. It’s enough to
make you join the Foreign Legion.
