Investment bank JP Morgan is once again looking for a corporate

communications chief to replace Joe Evangelisti, just weeks before

Richard Holloway was due to take up the post.

A consultant at The Maitland Consultancy since March, Holloway was

supposed to succeed Evangelisti as head of corporate communications for

Europe, Middle East and Africa in December (PR Week 13 September). He

has now decided to remain at The Maitland Consultancy.

Holloway, who was previously head of group PR at SG Warburg for three

years, explained that his reasons for turning down the job at JP Morgan

were both personal and professional.

He said: ‘It took me some time to get used to working in a small

consultancy and I finally came to the conclusion that if I went back

into a larger company it would be even more difficult to adjust. It’s

down to a change of organisational style. I have also come to enjoy

consultancy work and appreciate working in a smaller entrepreneurial

style.’

JP Morgan has already identified a candidate to replace Evangelisti and

an announcement is expected within the next two weeks. The new recruit

will manage communications for all the bank’s activities, including

lending, mergers and acquisitions and asset management.

Evangelisti himself will leave the London-based job at the end of the

year to head up JP Morgan’s worldwide media relations in New York.
