Zanussi, the UK’s second biggest white goods company, has picked The
Quentin Bell Organisation to run a new brand PR drive.
Marketing director Ian Symes chose QBO after seeing several agencies,
including Consolidated Communications last month (PR Week, 27
September).
Symes was tight-lipped over details of the campaign, which starts in
January, but said the brief will cover brands and general PR.
The company, which competes with the number one white goods manufacturer
Hotpoint, has a target audience of ABC 1 females.
Garnett Keeler, its Surbiton-based PR agency of two years, has been
retained to handle Zanussi’s sports sponsorship.
Zanussi is the title sponsor for the British bob sleigh team and signed
a deal two weeks ago to back the UK speed skating team.
Symes commented on the appointment: ‘We have always recognised the value
of PR and with this communications mix there is an opportunity for us to
use PR more effectively.’
