The other side After weeks of tabloid speculation, Katie Price used a TV interview to put forward her side of the story about her split from husband Peter Andre. The former glamour model agreed to an interview with Piers Morgan to answer tabloid accusations in the wake of the split. The interview followed Price's appointment of The Outside Organisation after she dumped her long-standing publicist Can Associates.
HOW I SEE IT
- Phil Hall, CEO, PHA Media
The media have alternately loved and hated the former glamour model, so was it right to go on Piers Morgan's show? Undoubtedly, yes. Price needed to counter the tabloid tales with her version of events, and with Piers you won't get a simpering interview. I believe, therefore, the strategy was a hit. Whether it was executed correctly by the inimitable Ms Price is another matter. The lack of humility she showed did her no favours at all. She should surely have argued that mistakes were made on both sides and showed a softer side to her personality. Her advisers can only advise - they can't deliver the words for her. Price is in a corner and has to come out fighting - the alternative is that her career, which depends on a positive media profile, is over.
