Last year Whitbread consolidated its hotel and restaurant businesses into one division and decided to bring in a single PR agency to work across its brands.
Claire Haigh, head of PR, Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, said: ‘We are definitely looking for campaigns with lots of creativity and energy, targeting both leisure and business consumers.’
Frank will cover a consumer, travel, leisure and trade press office as well as creative projects to generate news coverage. The account also encompasses Whitbread restaurants Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table and Taybarns.
Frank has worked with Premier Inn since 2006 and won the Whitbread account after a four-way pitch. McCann Erickson PR previously handled comms for Whitbread’s restaurant brands.
Premier Inn has also briefed Mandate Communications to attract more MPs and civil servants to quality budget hotels (PRWeek, 10 July).
