Hi-tech PR specialist Firefly has been hired by publisher and conference
organiser Learned Information Europe to handle publicity for the
Internet World International exhibition in May.
The agency beat stiff competition from three other firms - The Red
Consultancy, Nina Gardiner Associates and Barrington Harvey - for the
pounds 20,000 project.
Held at the Olympia 2 exhibition centre in London, the three-day event
will bring together delegates and exhibitors from 150 computing and
publishing firms, including IBM, Lotus, Compuserve, Silicon Graphics and
the British Library. Organisers expect up to 10,000 visitors.
Firefly has been charged with publicising the event to businesses
through regional and national press coverage and positioning it as a
forum for debate on the marketing potential of the Internet.
‘The conference will be looking at issues such as how to sell and
advertise products on the Net, security and privacy,’ said Firefly
account director Alison Jeremy. ‘It’s taking technology to the consumer
and business environment.’
The account will be led out of Firefly’s media division set up in
January and headed up by Jeremy.
