Hill and Knowlton has streng-thened its public affairs and corporate
policy division with the appointment of Gregor MacKay, special adviser
to the President of the Board of Trade. MacKay joins the agency’s 13
strong department next month as an account director.
He was appointed adviser to the Rt Hon Ian Lang MP last June, having
served him for three years at the Scottish Office when Lang was
Secretary of State for Scotland.
At H&K, MacKay will report to Edward Bickham, managing director
corporate policy and public affairs.
‘MacKay has an impressive grasp of Whitehall and Westminster,’ said
Bickham. ‘He will be a valuable addition.’
H&K has been building its government relations. Last October it hired
Colonel Bob Stewart, former chief of policy at the Supreme Headquarters
Allied Powers Europe as a senior consultant.
* H&K has been appointed to handle issues management for the British
Brands Group, formed by 25 major brand manufacturers including IDV to
tackle the issue of looklalike products.
