Invest Thames Gateway, the agency responsible for driving international inward investment into the Thames Gateway region, has hired The Communication Group as its retained PR agency. Invest Thames Gateway is a new organisation charged with bringing investment into the area between Canary Wharf, Southend in Essex and Sheerness in Kent.

Gravis Capital Partners has handed a brief to Penrose Financial to help launch GCP Infrastructure fund, the first debt-based infrastructure fund available to UK retail investors. The agency will promote the fund to retail investors as an alternative in the current low interest rate environment.

The Partners Group, a York-based PR and design agency, has won a brief to help launch IQ Wealth Creation, a wealth management business formed by ex-footballer Greg Thomson. Thomson is also a partner at financial consulting firm St James' Place.

Torus Insurance has handed a brief to College Hill to manage its financial comms programme. The agency won the account with the rapidly expanding specialty insurance company following a competitive pitch. College Hill supports Torus as it expands both geographically and in its service offering, through a comms programme targeted at insurers and re-insurers.

Pacific Alternative Asset Management has brought in Par Excellence PR as its European PR adviser. The hedge fund firm is based in California, with offices in London and Singapore. The agency will advise on comms strategy and media relations.

Oakley Capital Absolute Return has brought in Peregrine Communications. The hedge fund has seen a sharp rise in assets under management in recent months and Peregrine will help enhance its profile with private wealth managers through a media campaign.

MRM, the financial services PR agency, has promoted Hilary Morison to the position of director. She has worked as a senior consultant at MRM for the past three-and-a-half years. Before joining MRM, Morison was an account director at Mainland PR, where she worked alongside MRM co-founder Andrew Appleyard.
