COPENHAGEN: Top 20 PR consultancies Cohn and Wolfe (C&W) and GCI

have both expanded their Scandinavian operations by acquiring Danish

agencies.

C&W has bought out IT PR agency Professional Data Information (PDI) in a

bid to increase its IT knowledge base, while GCI has acquired Mannov

Consult, one of Denmark’s largest agencies.

C&W plans to fold PDI into its existing Danish operation. PDI clients

include Microsoft, Cisco and Dell, as well as Scandinavian software

developers and internet companies.

Seven of the firm’s eight staff join C&W to raise the total number of

staff at the C&W Danish office to 26.

CGI’s acquisition of Mannov Consult follows a two-years affiliation

partnership between the firms. The company, renamed GCI Mannov, has 24

employees and a fee income of pounds 1.4 million. It counts Intel,

British Airways, CNN and Kodak among its clients.

GCI Europe chair Ralf Hering said the agency will become one of GCI’s

European practice centres. GCI’s main Scandinavian agency is

Swedish-based GCI Rinfo, which boasts a PR income of pounds 3.1 million.
