Improperganda, the publicity stunts exhibition put together by
Borkowski Press and PR has really captured the media’s attention with
numerous newspaper articles and even a slot on Newsnight.
When the time came for ’human rotweiller’ Jeremy Paxman to get his teeth
into the exhibition and the morals behind it - Ben Jones of Cake was
invited onto the show to put the case for the joy of stunts.
In the lead up to the interview Jones claims he was wound up by almost
everyone on the show about the grilling he could expect from Paxman.
In preparation for this Jones devised a plan for an on-air stunt to try
to knock Paxman off his guard with a live stunt to promote Paxman’s
other TV show University Challenge. Under his shirt Jones wore a T-shirt
advising the watching public to tune in to the academic quiz.
In the end the interview went well with Paxman in pussy cat mode rather
than rotweiller and so Jones’ stunt remained unseen.
