Full service agency The Square has come up with an interesting way
of highlighting its corporate identity.
The agency, whose clients include National Power, The Discovery Channel
and Novartis, is gearing up to move offices and wanted to begin a
square-themed collection of everyday items. The new office would then be
decorated with these ’commemorative’ objects.
The genius behind the idea was agency creative director Garry
Watching BBC2’s Newsnight, he spotted feared anchorman Jeremy Paxman
sporting a tie with a pattern of richly-coloured squares, reminiscent of
the firm’s logo.
The company then wrote to Paxman, who graciously agreed to surrender the
tie for an undisclosed donation to Amnesty International. The Square PR
director Arlo Guthrie said the tie is now being sported for client
’Of course, at the moment we can only field one member of staff for
client meetings at a time, but we do plan to purchase another tie at
some time over the course of next year.’
