Euro RSCG Life buys healthcare shop Medicom Group

Euro RSCG Life has bought Medicom Group for an undisclosed sum as it looks to strengthen its global and European medical education offering.

The 40-strong Surrey based Medicom Group will now become Euro RSCG Life Medicom.

The agency will lead Euro RSCG Life’s med ed offering. It also bolsters Euro RSCG Life’s regional capabilities and expands its market access offering.

The acquisition of Medicom Group will enhance our offering for our clients and prospects in medical  comms and market access at both the global and European levels,’ said Michel Nakache, Euro RSCG Life Worldwide managing partner. ‘Because our strategy has been based on the creation of one single  brand, Medicom Group becomes Euro RSCG Life Medicom.’

Euro RSCG Life Medicom will continue to be led by chairman Martin Ellis. ‘We believe this gives us exciting opportunities to continue growing and makes Medicom Group a truly global brand,’ said Ellis. ‘We will bring our knowledge, know-how and professional style and market access to better service Euro RSCG Life clients.’

He added: ‘In parallel, the new enterprise will provide existing Medicom Group clients seeking a European and worldwide perspective with a new and exciting international platform. By joining Euro
RSCG Life, we can offer this without compromising our local offering for clients requiring UK comms expertise.’

Euro RSCG Life has 60 health-focused agencies in 50 countries around the world. Within that it has a network with more than 2,000 employees offering clients various comms services, including advertising, PR, event promotion, medical education, digital marketing, direct to patient and consulting work.

The network’s client roster includes GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, Pfizer, sanofiaventis and Schering-Plough.
