Golley Slater, the business-to-business and corporate PR
specialist, has acquired consumer agency Vital PR.
Vital is London-based, and founder and managing director Alison Jee has
moved her six staff into Golley Slater’s London offices.
Jee founded Vital in 1987 by taking over the consumer division of Binns
Cornwall, which months later became Buchanan Communications. She bought
her business out from Buchanan six years ago and has run it
independently since. She decided to sell because administration was
taking up too much of her time.
Golley Slater London, which counted eight staff before the merger, is
part of the group of the same name, which sells advertising, design,
telemarketing and recruitment, as well as PR services. The group has PR
offices in Cardiff, Bristol and Birmingham as well as London, and
employs 41 people in its pounds 2.1 million fee operation.
Vital, which had a pounds 300,000 turnover in its last year of trading,
will take on the Golley Slater name. Its clients, including the Hoover
Group, are moving to its new owners.
Jee becomes deputy managing director of the London office and takes a
seat on the board alongside London MD Althea Taylor-Salmon.
