PUBLIC SECTOR: Webb installed as head of news at the Met

Chris Webb has been officially appointed as the Metropolitan Police’s new head of news. Webb moves into the role after working for one month as acting head of news, having previously headed the special operations news desk. Webb will oversee the Met’s 40-strong team who man a 24-hour press office, and will also play a strategic role, advising on media relations strategy and reporting to public affairs director Dick Fedorcio. Webb replaces Tessa Bartholomew, who moved into the force’s personnel office on her return from maternity leave.
