India Quay is within walking distance of Glasgow's new media quarter by the River Clyde and counts journalists from the nearby STV and BBC offices among its customers. Spacious and airy, this trendy restaurant has received excellent media reviews. The restaurant featured in Robbie Coltrane's Incredible Britain, an ITV documentary following the actor's travels from London to Glasgow. TV repeats ensure it still pulls in tourists from all over the world.

- Signature dishes

The chef's special is lamb on the bone, marinated in a spicy sauce. At £15.95, this traditional curry gives customers a taste of authentic Indian home-style cooking.

Doopa Singh is head chef and has been with the restaurant since it opened in 2006.

Ask for a table away from the window - it can feel a bit like a greenhouse.
