Umeco has retained Tulchan Communications as its financial PR adviser. Umeco is a supply chain management specialist focused on the aerospace and defence industries. Tulchan consultants John Sunnucks, Mal Patel and Lucy Legh will manage the account, reporting to Umeco chief executive Clive Snowden.

College Hill has been appointed by P2i, a producer of liquid-repellent nano-coating technology, to implement a six-figure comms programme. The agency won the account in a competitive pitch process. College Hill's programme will be rolled out internationally, incorporating brand strategy, online comms and media relations supporting P2i in attracting customers in its initial key target sectors of performance textiles, consumer electronics and optical. The brief also includes profile raising in both business and investment communities.

Penrose Financial, a leading UK financial services and capital markets public relations consultancy, has been hired as PR adviser to Ortec Finance. The global provider of technology and advisory services for risk and return management has handed Penrose its retained financial PR brief. The firm launched its London office last week and Penrose will work to develop its profile in the UK marketplace. The agency will report directly to Lucas Vermeulen, head of Ortec Finance's UK office. The Penrose team is led by CEO Gay Collins.

Corizon, a UK-based business software provider, has brought in Prompt Communications as its UK PR consultancy. The agency will be responsible for generating awareness across the UK media, including business, technology, trade and key vertical press, to drive the firm's sales activities across UK and EMEA.

Madano PartnershIP has appointed Alicia Mellowship as a senior consultant. She joins from the Royal Bank of Canada, where she was responsible for the marketing of the private banking and wealth management division. Mellowship specialises in b2b marketing communications and will focus on developing existing accounts within Madano's growing financial services sector portfolio.
