Progeria is a rare and fatal genetic condition characterised by the appearance of accelerated ageing in children. There are 52 known children with Progeria in 29 countries around the world. However, PRF believes there are approximately 150 additional unidentified children with this condition.

The organisation has called in healthcare comms network GlobalHealthPR to launch its global awareness campaign, ‘Find the Other 150'.

The campaign, which kicks off this summer in the Americas, Europe, Russia, Asia and Africa, will drive the search for unidentified children with Progeria worldwide. It will aim to raise awareness of the disease among both the general public and global medical communities. GlobalHealthPR is represented in the UK by healthcare shop Aurora.

‘GlobalHealthPR's worldwide presence will help us to communicate to a diverse, global audience to find these children as quickly as possible, and bring their families and health care providers up-to-date on the latest in Progeria research and treatments,' said Aurora MD Claire Eldridge.
